Construction’s return to growth

In June, residential building was the best performing area in construction activity after it had dropped the furthest during lockdown. After three long months of depreciation, new business volumes marginally increased, suggesting that there may be reasons such as lead times lengthening or client hesitation keeping it from progressing any further.  It was noted by a number of construction firms that a key source of growth in June stemmed from new work in relation to infrastructure projects.
